Manali and Solang Valley Tour Overview

The Beas Kund Trek is a short yet rewarding Himalayan trek that leads to the glacial lake Beas Kund, the sacred source of the Beas River. Located in the Pir Panjal range of Himachal Pradesh, this trek starts from the scenic meadows of Solang Valley, near Manali, and offers breathtaking views of some of the region’s most prominent peaks, including Shitidhar, Friendship Peak, and Hanuman Tibba.
Spanning around 15–17 km and usually completed in 2–3 days, the trek is ideal for beginners and first-time high-altitude trekkers. The trail ascends gradually through lush alpine meadows, glacial streams, and rocky moraines, making the journey both scenic and manageable. As altitude increases, greenery gives way to stark mountain landscapes, creating a striking contrast.
At an altitude of approximately 3,700 meters, Beas Kund appears as a serene glacial basin surrounded by towering snow-clad peaks. The site holds mythological importance, believed to be where Sage Vyas meditated. Trekkers are rewarded with panoramic Himalayan views and a sense of tranquility rarely found on short treks.
