Day 1

Drive from chanigarh to Keylong via Atal Tunnel (approx. 9 hours).

Lahaul Valley - Post-Atal Tunnel Exploration 5 Days Tour

Drive through the spectacular Atal Tunnel, a modern engineering marvel, which bypasses the Rohtang Pass. The tunnel immediately drops you into the stunning, dramatically different landscape of the Lahaul Valley. Reach Keylong, the district headquarters, check into the hotel, and spend the evening enjoying the views of the Bhaga River.

Day 2

Keylong Local Monasteries and Gondhla Fort.

Visit the famous Kardang Monastery, a significant and beautiful complex of the Drukpa Kagyud sect, situated dramatically on a hill overlooking Keylong. In the afternoon, visit the historic Gondhla Fort, a seven-story medieval structure, offering deep insight into the regional history and the unique wooden architecture of Lahaul.

Day 3

Drive to Jispa and Darcha (Deep Lahaul) (approx. 2 hours).

Drive north along the Bhaga River to Jispa, a picturesque village known for its tranquil riverside camping, followed by Darcha, the final settlement before the high passes leading to Leh. Spend the day enjoying the remote, rugged beauty of the upper Lahaul Valley, a classic stop on the Manali-Leh Highway.

Day 4

Drive to Udaipur and Triloknath Temple (approx. 3-4 hours).

Drive through the Pattan Valley, famous for its fertility and cultural blending, to Udaipur. Visit the revered Triloknath Temple, a unique shrine sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists, showcasing the interfaith harmony of Lahaul. Explore the local market of Udaipur, situated in a deep, narrow gorge.

Day 5

Drive from Keylong to chandigarh

After a final Lahauli breakfast, begin the scenic drive back towards Manali, passing back through the Atal Tunnel. Transfer to the chandigarh airport / railwaystation or the bus station for your onward journey, concluding the peaceful and culturally rich exploration of the year-round accessible Lahaul Valley.
