Nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, this challenging crossover trek connects the Yamunotri and Har Ki Dun valleys while traversing the legendary Bali Pass at an altitude of around 4,950 meters.

This 7-day trek takes you through remote villages, dense pine and birch forests, alpine meadows, and dramatic glacial terrain. Trekkers are rewarded with spectacular views of iconic peaks such as Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, and Black Peak. The ascent to Bali Pass is steep and demanding, often involving snow slopes and technical sections, making it ideal for seasoned adventurers.

Combining adventure, culture, and breathtaking scenery, the Bali Pass Trek offers an unforgettable experience across the natural divide of the Yamuna and Ganga river systems.

Dehradun, Uttarkashi and Yamunotri Tour Itinerary

Day 1
A long, winding drive that follows the Tons River, offering continuous views of the remote Garhwal Himalayas. Sankri is the charming base village for many treks in the region and provides the first night's rest in a guesthouse. Spend the evening acclimatizing and preparing gear for the journey into the Govind National Park tomorrow.
Day 2
A short drive takes you to Taluka, the road-head. The trek begins with a scenic walk along the Supin River, passing through dense forests and small hamlets like Dhatmeer. Seema is a picturesque village and our campsite, offering views of the confluence of rivers and providing a comfortable stop before entering the deeper wilderness.
Day 3
Today is a beautiful walk that gently gains altitude. The trail leads to the expansive, rolling meadows of Devsu Thatch (Bugyal), which offer breathtaking panoramic views of the Kala Nag (Black Peak) towering over the landscape. We then descend slightly to the Untigad campsite, a quiet spot near a stream, perfect for a night under the stars.
Day 4
The trail leads deeper into the unspoiled valley, following the Supin River. Ruinsara Tal is a stunning high-altitude glacial lake nestled amongst birch and rhododendron bushes, surrounded by the majestic peaks of Banderpoonch and Swargarohini. We spend the afternoon exploring the lake's serene banks and soaking in the powerful mountain atmosphere.
Day 5
A relatively short but strenuous trek designed to position the team for the summit push. We traverse rocky terrain and ascend a ridge to reach Odari, which means a cave or overhang. This high, exposed base camp offers an unparalleled, close-up view of the Swargarohini peaks, preparing the body and mind for the challenging pass crossing.
Day 6
Start very early (around 3 AM) for the difficult, steep ascent to Bali Pass. The pass offers a 360-degree view of the Banderpoonch, Kalanag, and Swargarohini peaks. The descent on the other side is equally challenging and technical, crossing a steep snow/rock section, leading down into the Yamunotri valley towards the Damini Forest camp.
Day 7
The final trek leg is an easy walk past the sacred Yamunotri Temple, one of the Char Dhams, where you can witness the hot water springs and perform a quick darshan. From Yamunotri, a short downhill trek takes you to the road-head at Janki Chatti, from where a vehicle transfers you to Barkot for rest.
