Kedarkantha Trek 6 Days Tour

The trek begins today! Start the ascent from Sankri, traversing through dense pine and maple forests to reach the Juda-ka-Talab campsite. This trek is relatively easy, allowing for a good warm-up. The highlight is the tranquil lake nestled in the forest clearing, which often freezes in winter. Set up camp, enjoy a warm meal, and prepare for the next day's higher ascent.

Trek from Juda-ka-Talab to the Kedarkantha Base Camp (around 4 km). The path ascends steeply, offering intermittent clearings that showcase the magnificent surrounding peaks and valleys. Walk through beautiful stretches of oak and pine, and arrive at the expansive, snowy base camp meadow. Spend the afternoon acclimatizing and receiving instructions for the challenging summit push scheduled for the next, very early morning.

Summit Day! Begin the challenging climb to Kedarkantha Peak (3800m) well before dawn to catch the spectacular sunrise over the Greater Himalayan range. The views from the top are phenomenal, encompassing Swargarohini, Black Peak, and Bandarpoonch. After celebrating at the summit, descend back to the base camp, and continue trekking down to the Horegaon campsite for the night.

Enjoy a beautiful, easy descent from Horegaon to the village of Sankri. The trail today is mostly downhill, passing through dense forests and small settlements. Take time to appreciate the serene environment and the final views of the valley. Arrive back in Sankri in the afternoon, celebrating the successful completion of the trek with a warm meal and comfortable guesthouse stay.

After a final hearty breakfast in the mountains, begin the long drive back from Sankri to Dehradun. The drive provides a final opportunity to witness the stunning Garhwal landscapes. This marks the end of the expedition, leaving you with unforgettable memories of the Kedarkantha summit and the pristine Himalayan wilderness.
